Does This Offend You?

Jesus was popular until His message became exclusive. In John 6, crowds followed Him after He fed thousands, but Jesus knew they were chasing what He could provide rather than who He truly is. When He declared Himself the bread of life and made clear that He is the only way to the Father, many turned and walked away. The truth was too costly for those who were only following Him for the benefits. Peter's response stands as a defining contrast: there is nowhere else to go, because Jesus alone has the words of eternal life. The real question is not whether His claims are offensive, but whether we will let that offense drive us closer to Him or further away.
