We are very glad you are interested in Grace Fellowship! You will find that we are a friendly congregation who are eager to meet and welcome you. We are always glad to answer any questions you have about our church. The following information may be helpful.
Sunday Morning Worship
Our Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 am and usually lasts about an hour and a half or so. Normally our worship in song last between twenty to thirty minutes. Our church incorporates a variety of praise and worship choruses with occasional hymns. Words for the songs are easily followed on the projector screen. Everyone is free to worship at appropriate times and in Biblical ways such as with singing, hands lifted, clapping, dancing, or kneeling. We invite people to stand during these times. However, anyone is free to remain seated.
During our services we allow for the operation of spiritual gifts as the Holy Spirit wills within Scriptural order (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). Sometimes we pray for the sick (James 5:14) or other needs as the Holy Spirit directs.
Following the worship in song is announcements, prayer over needs, and regular offering. During the offering we encourage people to greet and welcome one another.
The preaching of the Word is an important part of each service. The Pastor is committed to the faithfully preaching and teaching of God's Word. Children are released to Sunday School just prior to the message.
Although our services are generally over around noon, we want each one to feel free to respond to God during our altar calls without time restraints. Therefore if people are responding we do not always have an official end (or Benediction) to our service. During the altar call we ask everyone to reverence what God is doing by waiting until the altar call has ended before leaving. Of course, if people need to leave at a certain time, they are free to do so. On the first Sunday morning, we share together in the Lord's Supper.
Children and Youth
Our church is kid friendly. We have an Infant Nursery available for ages newborn through one year old. Our Tots N Training is for children ages two and three. We have Sunday School for all ages each Sunday mornning from 9:30 am until 10:20 am. During the morning service the Pastor asks the younger children to come to the front where he teaches then an object lesson prior to the message. The kids are given a worksheet to turn in at the end of the service for a piece of candy.
Our Sunday evening events begin at 6:00 p.m. The schedule is a follows:
First Sunday evening of each month: Family Food, Fun, and Fellowship is held outdoors as weather permits. Everyone who is able is encouraged to bring sandwiches, chips, drinks, desserts to share. Some play volleyball, touch football, and horseshoes while other simply enjoy sitting around to visit. Some bring their own lawn chair. The smaller kids play on the playground equipment or chase and play. The nursery is closed. If weather is bad, we move our fellowship indoors. Sometimes we schedule special events at other locations.
Second, third, fourth, and fifth Sunday evenings: We typically meet in the sanctuary for an evening service. These services are less formal with greater attention given to developing a heart for revival and spiritual renewal. At times we may meet in our fellowship hall upstairs for a time of refeshments, fellowship, and sharing.
Wednesday Mid-Week Meetings
First Wednesday from 7-8 pm: Everyone meets in the sanctuary for prayer. We call this "Firstfruits Prayer" for the month. We believe strongly that prayer is the spiritual lifeline for all ministry. An infant nursery is available.
Second, Third, and Fourth Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m: The men and women meet separately. The men "Band of Brothers" meet upstairs in the fellowship hall. The women "Daughters of Destiny" meet in our sanctuary. The youth "Steadfast" (6th-12th Grade) meet upstairs in the youth room. The children "GRACE KIDS" (Pre-K through 5th Grade) meet upstairs for a time of singing, lesson, games, and activities. An infant nursery is available.
Our church has a formal membership. We are always excited when God adds new individuals and families to our church. If you are interested in discovering how you and your family can join the membership of Grace Fellowship, simply give us a call, drop by, or ask one of our ushers for a Membership Packet that contains the information you need. If you decide to join, simply return the completed membership form to the Pastor who will discuss this decision with you. It is common for us to present new members before the congregation to be welcomed by the church body into our family.
